I've been saying for years that I didn't really understand this "blogging crap." I can only think of about 2 people in the world who's daily ramblings I have any interest in reading- and I haven't even read their blogs, if they even have them. I was actually asked by a website I frequent to write a blog but I declined, even under a pseudonym, because I honestly don't think I have enough to say to satisfy the expectation of entertaining even a single person on a given day.
None of that has changed.
However, having finished my @&%$ PhD (finally) and needing an outlet to share some of my random thoughts from my recent roadtrip, I thought I'd attempt to enter the foray of blogging. The other options were my barely existent personal website, which can't handle a blog (at least I don't think so?), or Facebook, but since my parents and others who might be interested in my trip and future thoughts aren't (and shouldn't be) on Facebook, I elected to try this.
So without further ado, I guess this is the start of my blog. I hope someone out there finds it interesting.
